Will iPads Drive Teaching and Learning?

We have talked about engaging students in meaningful learning, flipped classrooms, project based learning, etc. and yes a ton of discussion about iPads. Our challenge is to consider learning goals, objectives and desired outcomes before trying to select a technology tool to help us get there. We need to embrace best practices in teaching and learning that encompass all of the great things we have been discussing. It is not about "what can we do with iPads?". We need to focus discussions on the how's and why's of innovative teaching and learning models. "I need iPads before I can know how to change my teaching" is much less compelling than "we are embracing a model of innovative teaching and learning, and iPads will be integrated into this model by ..."
